Tshisekedi Discusses Strategic Mining Mapping Partnership with Dynamic Aviation in Houston
President Félix Tshisekedi Holds Talks with Dynamic Aviation on Advanced Mineral Mapping Program to Boost DRC Mining Sector
During an official visit to Houston, President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, received a delegation from the American company Dynamic Aviation, led by its Managing Director, Michael Stoltzfus.
The meeting focused on a proposed strategic partnership aimed at strengthening the development and optimization of the DRC’s vast mining potential through advanced geospatial technologies.
A National Program for Critical Mineral Mapping
At the center of the discussions was a nationwide program dedicated to the mapping of critical minerals across the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The initiative would rely on advanced technologies, including aerial imagery, remote sensing, and geospatial data analysis, to produce high-quality geological information.
The objective of this program is to improve the accuracy and availability of mining data, enhance the attractiveness of the Congolese mining sector to investors, and strengthen governance in the management of natural resources.
Dynamic Aviation presented its technical expertise in aerial survey operations and data collection systems as part of its contribution to this potential collaboration.
Presidential Support with a Clear Sovereignty Framework
President Félix Tshisekedi welcomed the interest shown by Dynamic Aviation in the DRC’s mining sector and recognized the potential benefits of such a partnership for the country’s economic development.
However, he firmly reiterated that the sovereignty of the Democratic Republic of Congo over its natural resources remains a non-negotiable principle and a fundamental condition for any cooperation.
Towards a Structured Technical Proposal
The Head of State encouraged the continuation of discussions with the Prime Minister in order to develop a detailed technical and financial framework for the project.
This step is expected to clarify implementation modalities and ensure alignment with national priorities.
This initiative is consistent with the government’s broader strategy of leveraging the mining sector as a driver of industrialization, local value creation, job creation, and sustainable economic growth for the benefit of the Congolese population.
Strengthening the Role of Technology in Mining Development
If implemented, the partnership would represent a significant step forward in modernizing the DRC’s geological data systems and improving decision-making in the mining sector.
It also reflects the growing role of advanced technologies in unlocking the full potential of critical mineral resources in the global energy transition.
