DRC Government notes a drop in the price of mining products on weekdays on the international market

The prices of most mining products were revised downward during the last week of March 2021. This is indicated by the Economic Conjuncture Committee (CCE) at the end of the meeting held on Wednesday 31st March 2021.

According to the CCE, the prices of products such as Copper, Cobalt, Zinc and Manganese have been revised downwards.

Since the end of 2020, commodity prices had particularly remained on the rise until the last week of March 2021.

“ The Government has noted a drop in the prices of all export mining products, in particular Copper, Cobalt, Zinc and Manganese. The price of copper is $ 8,968 per metric ton, Cobalt is $ 52,470 per ton, Zinc is $ 2,816.40, Tin is $ 27,559.40, Gold is $ 1,732 , 74 USD an ounce, and the silver is 2,520.30 USD,  ”said Deputy Prime Minister and Budget Minister Jean-Boudouin Mayo.

Recall that the previous week, copper flowed at 9,053.2 USD per metric tonne, Cobalt at 52,700 USD, Zinc at 28,000 USD, tin at 27,821 USD and gold at 1,738 USD per metric ton. ounce.

The head of the Congolese Budget indicated that despite this decrease, the new tariffs will still allow the economy of the Democratic Republic of Congo to strengthen and resist.
