Finnish mining equipment maker Metso Outotec has been awarded an Є11 million (US$11.5 million) contract for the delivery of advanced electrowinning equipment to a copper cathode production plant in Africa.  Metso Outotec’s scope of delivery includes the supply of basic engineering and equipment for the copper electrowinning plant expansion. Metso Outotec and Panafrican Equipment Group have signed a distribution agreement for Metso Outotec’s stationary and mobile crushing and screening equipment for the aggregates and mining contractor customer segments. Swedish mining gear maker Epiroc posted on Monday first-quarter earnings and order bookings above market expectations, despite a negative impact on its business in Russia and Ukraine, and forecast strong demand ahead. Finland-based engineering firm, Etteplan says it is collaborating with Epiroc to enable fossil free underground heavy transportation without interruptions and, more specifically, helping redesign its Minetruck MT42 Battery into an electric trolley system.
