Oxair has developed a solution for inflating truck tires at remote mining sites

Australian company Oxair announced that it has developed a compact nitrogen generator that will help mining companies and other heavy industries operating in remote locations eliminate the need to outsource their nitrogen to fill the tires of their trucks. In a press release, Oxair stated that its facilities offer continuous gas flow from the atmosphere. They also use Pressure Swing Adsorption, or PSA, a membrane technology that uses cheap filtration methods for an on-site nitrogen production. Tires filled with nitrogen are more resistant to hot climates and freezing temperatures at… Read More Here

More heads to roll at Glencore this year

Mining and commodities trader Glencore (LON: GLEN) is planning more management changes this year as it makes the transition towards a new, younger generation of leaders. The Swiss giant has faced growing investor concern about climate change due to its heavy presence in the thermal coal market (it’s the world’s largest supplier of the fossil fuel). That, together with multiple corruption and bribery investigations, as well as a steep decline in the kind of coal it produces, has prompted Glencore to speed up planned changes at the top. Peru’s mining sector slowed down in 2019

Peru’s mining sector fell by 0.05% in 2019, a report that was shown by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics shows. According to the government agency, a 0.8% contraction in the metallic mining sub-sector is to blame for the downfall. In the world’s No. 2 copper producer and sixth-largest gold producer, such a drop carries so much weight that the 4.6% growth experienced by the oil and gas sub-sector wasn’t good enough to make up for it. In 2019, Peru produced almost 2.5 million fine metric tons of copper or… Read More Here
