DRC’s New Minister of Mines Kalambayi, Promises to Benefit the Congolese Population from Mineral Wealth
Antoinette N’Samba Kalambayi officially took up her duties as Minister of Mines during a handover and resumption ceremony on Wednesday April 28, 2021 with Willy Kitobo.
In reaction, the new boss of the mines promised to work for the Congolese population to benefit from mineral substances.
“I have worked all my professional life in the Ministry of Mines. We are going to work in common agreement with all the administrative staff as well as the specialized services of the mining sector so that tomorrow we can talk about the DRC, a country that is full of mineral substances and that these mineral substances benefit the Congolese population ”, said Antoinette N’Samba Kalambayi.
In turn, Willy Kitobo indicated that “the work at the mining ministry requires self-sacrifice in order to monitor mining activities on a daily basis and thus mobilize the revenues owed to the State”.
“Good governance of the mining sector requires giving priority to the interests of the Congolese nation before private and / or individual interests”, advised Mr. Kitobo.
Antoinette N’Samba Kalambayi is a pure product of the administration of the Ministry of Mines, where until her appointment she assumed the functions of head of division at the Inspectorate of Mines. Its mission is to enforce the mining code and other texts of the sector for the benefit of the Congolese people.
