Kinga Kila Mining again calls on the authorities to put an end to the invasion of its site by artisanal diggers in Lualaba

The Kinga Kila Mining company has again seized the provincial government of Lualaba, Gécamines, the Superior Auditor of the former Katanga as well as the other competent authorities in order to put an end to the invasion of its Kingamyambo mining site. located in the Luilu sector by several hundred artisanal diggers.

In its correspondence of Tuesday February 22, 2022, this company well established in law; again asks for support and assistance from this specialized service to restore order on this site.

“There is an emergency. Reliable sources indicate that the uncontrolled exploitation practiced in this artisanal mine has once again caused the collapse of a gallery. Several artisanal diggers have lost their lives. Others were injured,” Kinga Kila Mining said in a statement.

And to add:

“The same sources report that people not yet identified have tried to introduce heavy machinery on this site. Their objective being undoubtedly to make a discovery, allowing them to move on to an industrial phase. Fortunately, the police who found on the spot, prevented this illegal action”.

The Kinga Kila company also points out that this illegal presence of thousands of artisanal diggers jeopardizes the prospect of the partnership that binds it to Gécamines. Which, unfortunately, also harms the image of the good business climate proclaimed by the country’s authorities. Just like, it also violates the right of investors.

The massive illegal presence of artisanal miners also creates a serious security problem. The collapse of several galleries have already caused deaths and injuries.
