Sama Lukonde invites SADC industrialists and economic operators to explore opportunities in the DRC

The Congolese Prime Minister, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, chaired, this Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at the People’s Palace, the opening ceremony of the 6th annual industrialization week of the Southern African Development Community ( SADC) and this, on the sidelines of the 42nd Summit of Heads of State.

Note that the 6th annual week focuses on the theme: “ promoting industrialization through agro-processing, mineral development and regional value chains for inclusive and resilient economic growth”.

In their words of circumstance, the Ministers of Regional Integration and that of Industry alternately let it be known that the Industrialization Master Plan of the Democratic Republic of Congo, which is one of the pillars of the economic program of the Government masterfully led by the Prime Minister, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, constitutes for the country, the foundation of these foundations focused on the promotion of industrialization through agro-industry for inclusive and resilient economic growth.

In the presence of Ministers and Vice-Ministers, members of the Government, delegates and representatives of SADC member countries, the Head of the Congolese Government, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, underlined that with regard to the natural resources of which the Democratic Republic abounds of the Congo with more than 80 million arable lands as well as regular rainfall, a very rich and varied fauna and flora, its industrialization will make it possible to highlight all these potentialities of the country.

The Democratic Republic of Congo, its people and its President, His Excellency Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, as well as its Government, feel honored with the holding of the 6th annual week of industrialization of the Southern African Development Community “SADC” in acronym. This theme challenges us with regard to the natural resources that abound in our space, more particularly the Democratic Republic of Congo. Industrialization will make it possible to exploit all these potentialities. The Democratic Republic of Congo has more than 80 million arable land with regular rainfall, fauna and flora that will allow it to develop an agro-industrial chain. To this end, it needs private investment as well as infrastructure in the sectors I have mentioned,declared the Prime Minister, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde

The 6th annual week of industrialization, beyond its aspect relating to the promotion of products from the SADC zone, is a framework where reflections will be carried out to find ways of scientific and technological sharing with a view to the materialization regional infrastructure and investment.

“I think that this 6th annual week of industrialization will also offer Congolese industry the opportunity to integrate well into the SADC zone by exploiting all its potential, not only mining but also opportunities for cooperation with economic operators in the southern zone. I therefore invite you, industrialists and economic operators, to explore the opportunities offered by our country, the Democratic Republic of Congo. added the Congolese Head of Government.
