Thiess awarded Mantos Blancos haulage contract in Chile

CIMIC’s global mining services provider, Thiess, has been awarded a mining services contract with Mantos Copper S.A. at their Mantos Blancos mine, located northeast of Antofagasta, Chile. Thiess will undertake load and haul services, including fleet maintenance, to move low-grade copper ore at the Mantos Copper SA operation, which produces around 50,000 tonnes of fine copper a year. Mantos Blancos is a mining complex located in Region II, 45 kilometres northeast of the city of Antofagasta at 800 meters altitide. Toyota sees further recovery in global car production in August

Toyota Motor Corp will make 2% fewer vehicles worldwide in August than originally planned, the Japanese automaker said on Tuesday as production is gradually recovering from a steep decline due to the coronavirus pandemic. The company said it aimed to make 15,000 fewer vehicles than its initial plan, which was around 750,000, according to Reuters’ calculations.
