Shuka Minerals Advances Kabwe Exploration as Eighth Drill Hole Confirms Zinc and Copper Potential

Shuka Minerals Completes Eighth Drill Hole at Zambia’s Kabwe Mine, Identifies Copper and Zinc Mineralisation

Shuka Minerals has completed its eighth exploration drill hole at the Kabwe Zinc Mine in Zambia, with early results continuing to highlight the potential of previously underexplored sections of the historic mining area.

The completed drill hole, known as KBDD08, targeted the Speaks and Mine Club zones, located about 1 km north-west of the Pit 2 area where the company has previously conducted exploration activities.

The drilling programme is aimed at improving understanding of the deposit and identifying extensions of the zinc, lead and copper mineralisation system.

Results from the latest drilling indicate the presence of significant mineralisation, with portable X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis identifying zinc grades ranging from 1% to 22% across mineralised intervals.

The drilling also confirmed the presence of lead and copper, with lead grades ranging from 0.1% to 3.3% and copper readings reaching as high as 3%.

The company reported several encouraging mineralised intersections, including an interval of 18.67 metres grading 2.05% zinc, a zone of 3.66 metres averaging 8.27% zinc and 0.93% copper, and another section measuring 5.66 metres grading 4.18% zinc.

Shuka said the results suggest that mineralisation continues through the central parts of the Speaks and Mine Club zones.

The company will conduct laboratory testing to verify the initial XRF readings and provide formal assay results compliant with recognised reporting standards.

Exploration Expands Understanding of Kabwe Deposit

The Speaks and Mine Club areas form part of the wider Kabwe zinc-lead-copper deposit, which has a long history of mining activity.

Shuka is targeting areas that remain underexplored despite evidence of significant mineral potential.

Historical estimates indicate that the Speaks zone contains substantial zinc and lead resources, while the Mine Club zone also contains zinc, lead and additional mineralisation potential, including copper, silver and vanadium.

The company said the latest drilling results indicate that the orebody may become thicker in sections of the northern area, improving confidence in the continuity and scale of the mineralised zones.

Further Drilling Programme Underway

Following the positive results from the ongoing exploration campaign, Shuka has expanded its drilling programme to approximately 2,500 metres. Further drill holes will target the southern sections of the Speaks and Mine Club zones to assess additional mineralisation potential.

The company’s geological team is continuing work at the site with support from technical consultants, as it advances its understanding of the Kabwe deposit and evaluates opportunities to expand the resource base.

Shuka Sees Long-Term Potential at Kabwe

Shuka Minerals believes the latest drilling results strengthen the case for the continued development of the Kabwe project.

The company said the findings provide greater confidence in the continuity of the orebody and highlight the potential for additional zinc, lead and copper resources.

With global demand for critical minerals increasing, particularly zinc and copper used in infrastructure, energy systems and industrial applications, Shuka is positioning Kabwe as a potential future source of these strategic commodities.

The company will continue its exploration programme as it works towards defining additional resources and advancing the next stages of development at the historic Zambian mining project.
