DRC’s Tin Exports Outperform Diamonds, Bringing in $428 Million in 2022

The tin industry generates more revenue in the Democratic Republic of Congo than that of diamond mining.

In 2022, the 32,854 tons of tin exported brought in 428.8 million USD to economic operators in the sector, according to statistics from the Ministry of Mines of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

On the other hand, in the diamond sector, the 11 million 683 439 carats of diamonds exported in 2022 brought in only 145.9 million USD.

In other words, the tin industry brings in three times more income than the diamond industry in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
