Kibali Gold Mine Posts Strong Q3 2025 Production in DRC
Kibali Gold Mine Boosts Third-Quarter Output by 21% in DRC, Strengthening Barrick’s Global Gold Portfolio
The Kibali gold mine, the Democratic Republic of Congo’s (DRC) flagship gold asset, delivered a strong performance in the third quarter of 2025.
According to the quarterly report released by operator Barrick Mining on Monday, November 10, 2025, Kibali produced 191,000 ounces of gold between July and September, marking a 21% increase compared to 159,000 ounces in the same period in 2024.
The production growth was largely driven by a ramp-up in open-pit mining operations at the Kibali complex. Open-pit ore extraction surged by 133% during the quarter, effectively offsetting a decline in ore deliveries from underground operations.
Despite this robust quarterly performance, cumulative production for the first nine months of 2025 totaled 498,000 ounces, slightly below the 509,000 ounces recorded over the same period in 2024.
This variance highlights the operational challenges and natural fluctuations in large-scale mining, where quarterly output can be influenced by ore grade and extraction schedules.
Kibali remains a cornerstone of gold production in the DRC and a key asset in Barrick Mining’s global portfolio, reinforcing the company’s position as one of the world’s leading gold producers.
